The Yuletide Camellia is a spectacular evergreen shrub that is perfect for the holidays. It's hard to pass up a plant with such a beautiful name and it’s rare to find one that blooms during the colder seasons. The Yuletide is an award-winning favorite of many. Blooming from September to December, this shrub will provide beautiful blooms when most plants do not. Extremely drought tolerant and, once established, the Yuletide can withstand any conditions.

This Red Camellia is an evergreen shrub that serves well as a property barrier, foundation planting, or even as an accent in your landscaping. Growing to an impressive height of 8-10 ft. and width of 6-9 ft. it allows privacy where it is needed most. Bearing an abundance of red flowers with bright yellow stamens, this shrub will add color to an otherwise bare landscape during the cooler seasons.

Planting

Planting Time: Plant any time of the year taking care to avoid temperature extremes on either end of the spectrum.
Sun: Part sun to part shade
Soil: Fertile, acidic, moist, but well drained

Watering

When newly planted, water deeply at least twice weekly. Camellias prefer a moist soil, but water requirements do diminish as the plant ages and is able to shade its own roots.

Maintenance

Mulching is a great way to keep the roots cool, soil moist, and add nutrients to the soil.

Prune after flowering if needed to remove dead and dying branches or correct aesthetic or structural issues.
